I see that the sling (core rules v 1.1, page 135) is listed as a 2 handed weapon, why is that? Wouldn't it normally be a one handed weapon?

The sling is one of those fun weapons that to actually make the attack you only need one hand, but to really operate it you need two. Mostly it's due to the load and throw system. That said, there's nothing to stop you from using it, then doing something with your free hand while still holding the sling, but you need to have that hand free again to use the weapon again. So yeah, it does count as two handed to practical use.
